Chief Engineer .
The Chief Engineer oversees all activities and staff related to the maintenance and repair of mechanical and electrical systems within a property. The goal is maximum life and reliability of all systems. The Chief Engineer is flexible, willing to perform all duties that are assigned, and may include maintenance and operations of HVAC, mechanical, plumbing and electrical systems. They also perform general building maintenance, inspections, respond to client requests, open work orders, order parts, and ensure compliance with expense guidelines, company policy, and governing codes.
Pay Range:
$93.35 per hour (actual offer based on experience, education, geographic location and market data).

Schedule:
Mon‑Fri 6:00 am‑3:30 pm

Essential Functions
Supervise the performance and maintenance of all mechanical, electrical and craft services.
Oversee the efficient operation of facility equipment and systems.
Communicate daily with Building Management regarding services performed.
Develop operating instructions and procedures for equipment and systems.
Strive toward zero down‑time in operations by ensuring reliable system performance.
Prepare operating budgets relative to the Engineering Department.
Implement and conduct training programs for operating facility equipment and systems.
Maintain periodic operational testing schedules for critical systems and equipment.
Administer an effective preventative maintenance system tailored to the facility.
Evaluate equipment and systems and provide recommendations for improvement.
Monitor and supervise subcontracted jobs when not performed in‑house.
Implement an energy conservation program to keep operating costs low.
Possess required licenses and permits to operate, repair and maintain facility equipment and systems.
Ensure on‑site staff complies with all local laws, codes and regulations.
Establish a program for acquisition, storage and accountability of operating materials, tools and equipment.
Develop and maintain a work order system for all on‑call and unscheduled services.
Allocate work responsibilities among subordinates through manpower schedules and work methods.
Establish performance standards for each phase of work.
Carry out safety, administrative and quality procedures of the customer and ABM.
Perform other duties as required within contractual limits.
Minimum of five (5) years’ experience in relevant functions.
Requirements
7–10+ years progressive operations experience preferred.
Experience managing operations at a large portfolio of buildings.
Strong knowledge of electrical, UPS, and emergency power systems.
Experience in work planning, scheduling, and managing a large group of Stationary Engineers.
Highest‑level relevant state/local license for Stationary Engineer and/or HVAC, plus universal level refrigerant recovery license.
BOMA accredited courses desirable.
High‑rise Fire Safety Director, Haz‑Mat Certification, Indoor Air Quality Certification, LEED Certification preferred.
Certification meeting OSHA ACM awareness training requirements as required.
Working knowledge of energy conservation required; formal training preferred.
Strong oral and written communication skills.
Strong employee relation, coaching and training skills.
Proficiency with MS Word, Excel, and Outlook.
Computer skills and building automation systems experience required.
