Vice President on the Americas Loans, Leveraged Finance & ICB Legal team Join us as a Vice President on the Americas Loans, Leveraged Finance & ICB Legal team at Barclays. You will provide legal counsel to Barclays’ top‑tier leveraged finance and institutional lending businesses, its growing international corporate banking business, and its domestic and cross‑border financing transactions. You will advise on structuring, negotiation, syndication, and post‑closing management of a variety of financing transactions, draft and negotiate complex transaction documentation, oversee external counsel, and contribute to legal and compliance training and policy development.

Key Responsibilities

Advising on structuring, negotiation, syndication, and post‑closing management of leveraged, investment‑grade, sustainability‑linked, green, project, asset‑based, debtor‑in‑possession, exit financings, and working‑capital facilities.

Drafting and negotiating transaction documentation, contracts, syndication, and marketing materials.

Providing counsel on risk‑weighting assets, sustainable financing transition, and expansion of corporate banking products in the Americas.

Overseeing external counsel engagements and participating in industry working groups (e.g., LSTA, BPI).

Maintaining and updating legal templates and ensuring compliance with applicable laws, regulations, and banking standards.

Leading legal and compliance trainings and developing best‑practice legal strategies.

Offering legal advice to transaction approval committees and managing litigation, arbitration, and regulatory investigations related to investment banking activities.

Qualifications

A Juris Doctor degree from an accredited law school and current New York Bar qualification.

Extensive experience in bank finance at a top‑tier law firm or financial institution.

Proven ability to draft and negotiate complex transaction documentation and legal agreements.

Additional Desired Skills

Significant experience with a broad range of leveraged and investment‑grade financing structures and transactions.

Familiarity with U.S. banking regulations and securities laws.

A track record of effective teamwork and collaboration across functions.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Compensation Minimum Salary: $280,000 Maximum Salary: $311,000
