The primary role of a phlebotomist is to assist in performing various duties, troubleshooting, training, and making workflow recommendations. This position is essential in ensuring the smooth operation of specimen collection and processing. Perform blood draws, label specimens, and centrifuge specimens. * Record maintenance data and decontaminate work areas. * Ensure all test requisitions or computer labels match the script 100%. * Answer telephone calls and read laboratory results to address inquiries. Proven proficiency in phlebotomy and patient care, particularly blood draws. * Valid Phlebotomy certification for the state of employment, if required. * Minimum of 6 months' experience performing venipunctures in a fast-paced lab or hospital setting. * Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite. High School Diploma or GED. * The work environment includes a fast-paced lab or hospital setting where phlebotomists must adhere to established procedures and protocols. Proper personal protective equipment must be worn at all times, and phlebotomists will work with various tools and technologies, including centrifuges and computers for data entry. This is a Contract position based out of Gastonia, NC.
