Fund Accountant – Job Overview

The Fund Accountant provides specialized accounting support for commingled investment portfolios. Using fund accounting technology, this role supports daily Net Asset Value (NAV) execution across multiple functions, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and adherence to departmental standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Execute daily NAV activities including transactions, capital stock, expenses, corporate actions, cash, and special handling.
• Identify, investigate, and resolve accounting breaks.
• Serve as the primary contact for derivative valuation inquiries.
• Verify data accuracy and completeness across accounting processes.
• Escalate issues and problem items as appropriate.

Production & Issue Management

• Manage daily workload and production volume.
• Ensure daily deliverables meet quality and timeliness standards.
• Monitor, track, and assist in the resolution of open issues and inquiries.
• Perform break follow-up and resolution to minimize risk and exposure.
• Maintain daily production and exception reporting.

Communication & Cross-Functional Collaboration

• Communicate professionally and constructively to resolve issues efficiently.
• Interact with internal BBH departments to support issue resolution.
• Follow up on outstanding inquiries to ensure timely closure.

Reporting & Process Improvement

• Contribute to management reporting, including: clarity, PVCs, past‑due items.
• Develop an understanding of how individual responsibilities impact broader firm objectives.
• Participate in division and firm‑wide process improvement initiatives.
• Identify efficiency gains to improve individual productivity.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree (BA/BS) or equivalent work experience.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
• Strong problem identification, escalation, and resolution skills.
• Effective verbal and written communication skills.
• Strong organizational skills with a high level of attention to detail.
• Ability to manage time efficiently and prioritize multiple tasks.
• Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
• Ability to meet deadlines and perform under pressure.
