Position Summary
The Bidding Producer is a key member of our studio's production team, responsible for bidding, scoping, and scheduling day-to-day operations across various projects, focusing on live action film and video production, live streaming, and experiential activations. This role ensures projects are bid and scoped on time and within budget, maintaining high quality standards. The Bidding Producer collaborates closely with creative, technical, and production teams, managing resources, schedules, and logistics for seamless project execution. May also act as line producer, managing budgets, hiring crew and talent, and ensuring all creative and logistical needs are met with assets delivered on time. The ideal candidate has strong organizational skills, a deep understanding of production processes through post-production, and can manage multiple projects efficiently in a fast-paced environment. Experience with visual effects and XR/Virtual production techniques is required. We prioritize creating a smooth, premium experience for our crew and stakeholders. Responsibilities: Preproduction
Budget: Create and manage a line-item production budget in AICP format, ensuring all crew and expenses are planned and accounted for. Scheduling: Develop detailed production schedules covering all phases from pre-production to post-production. Hiring Crew: Collaborate with the creative department to source, hire, and negotiate contracts with cast, crew, and support staff; maintain payroll and production reports. Logistics Planning: Arrange locations, permits, equipment rentals, and other logistical needs. Work with EP to establish and negotiate rates. Production
On-Set Management: Oversee daily operations on set, ensuring adherence to schedule and budget. Problem Solving: Address issues during production, including technical difficulties and personnel conflicts. Coordination: Act as the primary contact between the director, cast, crew, and other departments. Safety Compliance: Enforce safety protocols and regulations on set. HR Standards: Ensure compliance with HR policies and legal requirements, including payroll and paperwork. Post-Production
Budget Tracking: Monitor and control the remaining budget during post-production. Resource Allocation: Coordinate resources with post-production teams. Delivery: Ensure timely completion of deliverables meeting quality standards. Liaise with data and post teams for file creation and processing. Requirements
Experience: Proven experience as a Bidding or Line Producer in film or television. Education: Bachelor’s degree in Design, Marketing, Creative Writing, Advertising, Fine Arts, or related field preferred but not required. Software: Familiarity with production management and budgeting tools. Skills: Strong organizational, leadership, and communication skills. Knowledge: Deep understanding of production processes, budgeting, scheduling, including union and non-union labor (DGA, IATSE, SAG). Network: Existing relationships within the LA market and crew network. Problem-Solving: Resourceful and quick-thinking under pressure. Flexibility: Willing to work long hours and adapt to schedule changes.
