We are seeking a highly experienced Principal Data Scientist with deep expertise in the insurance domain to drive advanced analytics and machine learning initiatives. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in developing predictive models, working with large‑scale datasets, and translating complex analytical outcomes into actionable business insights that support strategic decision‑making. Key Responsibilities: Gather and process structured and unstructured data from multiple internal and external sources Clean, preprocess, and transform raw data into analysis‑ready datasets Apply statistical methods and machine learning algorithms to identify trends and patterns Build predictive models for risk assessment, fraud detection, customer segmentation, underwriting, and pricing Utilize regression, classification, clustering, and time series techniques to generate actionable insights Develop, fine‑tune, and validate machine learning models for insurance use cases Implement model deployment strategies and monitor model performance post‑deployment Translate analytical findings into clear, actionable insights for business and executive stakeholders Develop data‑driven reports and dashboards to support decision‑making Collaborate closely with business analysts, actuaries, product managers, and IT teams Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior data scientists and team members Required Skills: 15+ years of experience in Data Science 1+ years of experience within the Insurance services industry Strong expertise in Python and R for data analysis, machine learning, and modeling Advanced proficiency in SQL for complex queries and performance optimization Hands‑on experience with machine learning libraries such as scikit‑learn, TensorFlow, XGBoost, Keras, and PyTorch Experience with data visualization tools including Tableau, Power BI, Matplotlib, Seaborn, and ggplot2 Strong experience in data wrangling and feature engineering In‑depth understanding of insurance processes including underwriting, claims, pricing, risk modeling, and actuarial analysis Proven experience applying data science techniques to insurance‑specific challenges such as fraud detection and risk assessment Strong analytical, problem‑solving, and critical‑thinking skills Excellent communication and presentation skills with the ability to explain complex models to non‑technical stakeholders Ability to work effectively in a cross‑functional team environment Exposure to cloud platforms such as AWS, Google Cloud, or Azure Preferred Qualifications Experience with big data technologies such as Hadoop, Spark, or Databricks Familiarity with actuarial science or advanced insurance‑specific statistical techniques Experience with natural language processing for claims data and policy document analysis Strong background in predictive analytics and insurance risk management Technologies: Python, R, SQL, Machine Learning, Insurance Analytics, Tableau, Power BI, Cloud Platforms, Big Data Preferred Certifications: Insurance or Data Analytics–related certifications (nice to have) Referrals increase your chances of interviewing at ConglomerateIT by 2x
