Senior Electrical Wiring Interconnection System (EWIS) Design Engineer

Saxon Aerospace is seeking a highly skilled Senior Electrical Wiring Interconnection System (EWIS) Design Engineer to lead advanced wiring design, certification, and integration efforts across multiple programs. This is an exciting opportunity to influence system architecture, partner with cross‑functional teams, and support cutting‑edge aircraft development.
Compensation Base pay range: $165,000.00/yr - $184,000.00/yr
Responsibilities
Serve as a technical authority for EWIS design and certification.
Develop new wire installation designs, modifications, and rework across multiple platforms.
Collaborate with engineering teams to ensure all EWIS designs meet system, safety, and certification requirements.
Work closely with Supply Chain and Manufacturing to support material needs and installation instructions.
Build 3D harness routing models and integrate them into digital mock‑ups.
Select wiring components such as connectors, backshells, shielding, and strain reliefs.
Maintain 2D and 3D CAD library parts.
Participate in Systems Design Reviews and coordinate with certification authorities.
Support verification, validation, and creation of certification reports.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Aerospace, Electrical, or related Engineering field.
10+ years of relevant EWIS experience (preferred).
Strong working knowledge of EWIS requirements, system separation, shielding, grounding, and certification methods.
Experience with wire harness design tools (Capital Harness required).
Experience with 3D modeling tools (CATIA or NX).
Understanding of aerospace regulations and certification guidance (ACs, FARs, TSOs, etc.).
Physical & Travel Requirements
Ability to sit, stand, walk, kneel, and lift up to 25 lbs.
Ability to work at a computer for extended periods.
Valid driver’s license and clean driving record.
