Philanthropy Advisor, Transformational Giving
We are seeking a Philanthropy Advisor for our Transformational Giving team. The role focuses on cultivating, managing, and soliciting a portfolio of existing and prospective major giving donors. The Advisor will initiate action plans to establish lasting relationships, ensuring the Fellowship becomes donors’ primary giving charity.
Pay range:
$115,000 – $125,000 per year
Responsibilities
Implement a comprehensive stewardship plan that proactively stewards assigned caseload.
Establish clear action plans, goals, and priorities for caseloads to achieve annual financial goals.
Work closely with the Philanthropy team to formulate strategy for prospect identification, evaluation, cultivation, solicitation, and moves management.
Offer new and innovative ideas to strengthen the donor journey while maintaining proven strategies to engage donors in a meaningful transformational experience.
Establish, cultivate, and enhance donor relationships with caseloads, including managing communication via email, letter, and telephone, ensuring consistent messaging.
Maintain in-depth knowledge of donors in the caseload, including contribution details, important life events, and follow-up accordingly.
Manage all aspects of donor visits from research, planning, travel arrangements to wrap‑up, targeting key donors in particular areas.
Input all activity into donor management software and complete related administrative work.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
Minimum five years of experience in fundraising and cultivating major donors, or in sales and customer relations.
Previous development and major gift experience; CFRE preferred.
Proven fundraising track record in major gifts and/or planned giving.
Ability to build relationships with a wide range of donors and understand their needs and passions.
Skills and Competencies
Strong knowledge of the US philanthropic landscape, prospect research methodology, and best practices.
Experience with moves management strategy and donor‑centric engagement.
Basic to intermediate knowledge of estate planning and planned gifts.
Excellent sales execution, customer relations, or business management skills.
Ability to negotiate and close solicitations.
Experience with Microsoft Office 365 and CRM database.
Exceptional interpersonal, presentation, and negotiation skills.
Ability to develop authentic relationships with high‑wealth prospects and individuals from diverse backgrounds.
Sensitivity to varied cultures and religions, with strong knowledge of Jewish and Christian communities.
Travel availability for domestic and some international trips.
