Eliot’s Homeless Services Division is seeking a knowledgeable
Tenancy Support Manager
to work in our Tenancy Preservation Program (TPP) which provides consultation to the courts in eviction cases that are entitled to accommodations due to the presence of mental health or physical disability.
The ideal candidate will bring housing and mental health experience. The responsibilities include site visits, engagement with tenants and landlords, acting as the primary point of contact, along with solid knowledge of policies and procedures and the ability to support a team of case managers.
Responsibilities:
Coordinate lease-up process; meet new tenants on-site at units, complete necessary documents, and review Eliot’s leasing policies and procedures.
Supervise Housing Coordinators
Coordinate with landlords and tenants to complete on-site unit inspections for each rental unit at new tenant lease-up, tenant exit, annually, and as needed.
Serve as primary contact with landlords; triage to other staff as needed.
Serve as the main point of contact for assigned tenants to address any housing related needs.
Foster relationship and coordinate with case management staff at partner service provider agencies to discuss tenant issues and successes related to housing.
Attend monthly service provider/landlord meetings.
Triage and respond to unit transfer requests and reasonable accommodations and ensure all required documentation is complete and submitted.
Develop expertise in contract and legal requirements for leasing programs including tenant/landlord law; eviction process.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree and 2 years of related experience.
Weekly travel across the Metro Boston and Northeast region required. Mileage reimbursed at the federal rate.
Understanding of homeless services and nonprofit organizations preferred.
Understanding of housing first practices, including low threshold and trauma informed approaches preferred.
Bilingual candidates fluent in a needed language may be eligible for a 6% salary increase
Schedule:
Monday-Friday, 9am-5pm
$70,000 - $75,000 USD
