Solid Organ Transplant (Cardiothoracic) Clinical Pharmacist Specialist
CommonSpirit Health seeks a dedicated Specialist to provide leadership and clinical pharmacy services in solid organ transplant (cardiothoracic) setting.
Job Summary The Specialist will lead clinical pharmacy initiatives, mentor staff pharmacists, educate pharmacy residents and students, support service lines, and collaborate with pharmacy leadership to advance departmental goals while aligning with CSH mission, vision, and values.
Key Responsibilities
Provide leadership and clinical pharmacy services across the organization.
Implement and support System, Region, and Facility Pharmacy Services initiatives.
Establish and maintain clinical pharmacy programs, mentor staff pharmacists, and oversee clinical pharmacy activities.
Educate pharmacy residents, students, and medical staff on evidence‑based practices and cost‑effective care.
Collaborate with pharmacy leadership to develop action plans for campus initiatives.
Ensure compliance of clinical pharmacy initiatives with regulatory requirements.
Precept Pharmacy Interns and Residents; serve as Residency Program Director as applicable.
Document clinical activities, interpret medication orders, verify and dispense medications, and resolve drug‑related problems.
Provide patient counseling and drug information; maintain knowledge of automated systems.
Participate in orientation, instruction, and training of pharmacy students, interns, technicians, and residents.
Job Requirements
Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy or Doctor of Pharmacy degree.
Residency completion or three (3) years of clinical experience.
Active Texas Pharmacist License in good standing.
Board Certification (e.g., BCCP, BCPS) required within 3 years of hire (existing incumbents exempt).
BLS Certification issued by the American Heart Association.
ACLS Certification issued by the American Heart Association.

Baylor St. Luke’s Medical Center — an 881‑bed quaternary care academic medical center in the Texas Medical Center, home of the Texas Heart® Institute.
Pay Range $49.78 – $74.05 per hour
