About Our Team
We're looking for a passionate and experienced AI Authentication Engineer to join our growing team. In this role, you'll help design, build, and scale an AI platform with customer-facing products and solutions, ensuring they are secure, reliable, and performant. You'll collaborate closely with product managers, designers, and fellow engineers to deliver seamless experiences.
You'll explore and implement how intelligent agents can execute complex workflows to delivering personalized and adaptive product experiences. You'll balance nearterm product needs with building longterm platform capabilities that enable innovation at scale. This will be accomplished through integrations with 3rd party MCP servers and gateways.

Chicago, IL, Hybrid (3 days on-site, 2 days remote)
What You'll Do
Own endtoend technical strategy for embedding LLMs, embedding stores, MCP Servers, and personalized content delivery.
Build tools and services (including MCP Server integrations) to help other team members experiment and ship AI-enhanced features responsibly and efficiently.
Collaborate with crossfunctional partners across QA, Mobile, Data, Product, and Marketing.
Shape and execute our AI strategy with Agents powered by LLMs and other AI technologies.
Implement secure authentication and authorization mechanisms for MCP connections.
Basic Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or Technical discipline and 10+ years of experience
Experience with enterprise deployment patterns, containerization technologies (like Docker), and cloud infrastructure platforms with focus on Azure.
Debugging experience to troubleshoot complex issues in distributed environments and partner integrations.
Experience in one or more of the following languages: Node.js, Python, C#, TypeScript
Experience developing and deploying MCP Servers and working with the Model Context Protocol ecosystem.
Experience with AI development frameworks like LangChain, LlamaIndex, or internal AI platforms.
Experience with policy engines (e.g., OPA) and MCP gateways for centralized authorization and logging.
Preferred Qualifications
Familiarity of identity products (Identity Server, Okta, Microsoft Entra)
A deep understanding of the MCP specification, architecture, and security best practices.
3P Integrations patterns (Token validations and mappings)
Proficiency in backend languages commonly used for MCP server development, such as Python, TypeScript/Node.js, Go and DotNet.
OpenID Connect, and JWT (JSON Web Tokens).
WebSockets, and real-time communication protocols.
Understanding enterprise security and compliance requirements (e.g., SOC2, GDPR, HIPAA).
Knowledge of RESTful API design, JSON-RPC (which MCP uses as its foundation).
Knowledge of security risks such as prompt injection, context poisoning, and credential exfiltration, and how to mitigate them.
Familiarity with both SQL and NoSQL database systems to manage data accessed by AI agents.
In-depth understanding of MCP protocols (current and proposed).
Base salary budgeted range for this position is $150K-180K. Individuals may also be considered for bonus and/or commission.
