Nightwing is seeking a seasoned Senior Software Engineer to lead the design and delivery of complex, mission‑critical software systems. In this role, you’ll operate with a high degree of autonomy, tackle high‑visibility challenges, and help shape solutions that directly support critical operations.
Location: Annapolis Junction, Maryland
Candidates must have an active TS/SCI with CI Poly clearance.
Key Job Responsibilities
Lead the design, development, testing, and deployment of sophisticated software systems supporting mission-critical programs.
Apply advanced software engineering principles and agile methodologies to deliver scalable, secure, and high-performance applications.
Work independently on complex functional tasks while contributing to the overall technical direction of the program.
Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to ensure solutions meet technical, functional, and security requirements across the full development lifecycle.
Provide technical leadership by mentoring junior engineers and, when assigned, overseeing the work of staff supporting specific initiatives.
Support high-visibility efforts where reliability, performance, and security are paramount.
Minimum Requirements
10+ years of professional software engineering experience, or a qualifying substitution as defined by program guidelines.
Current TS/SCI CI Poly clearance.
IAT Level II certification compliance (required).
Proven experience delivering complex systems in environments with stringent security and operational requirements.
Strong ability to work independently while influencing team success and technical outcomes.
Active and transferable U.S. government issued security clearance is required prior to start date. U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.
