Program Director Community Housing Innovations (CHI) invites applications for Program Director to oversee six emergency shelter programs in Newburgh and Poughkeepsie. The role ensures resident services, facility safety, program compliance, reporting, and contributes to CHI’s Strategic Direction as a leadership team member.

Compensation & Benefits

Salary:

$90,000 per year

Type:

Full‑time, non‑exempt

Schedule:

Monday – Friday 8 AM–4 PM with 24‑hour on‑call support

Location:

Poughkeepsie, NY

Paid Time Off, 2 personal days awarded annually (effective Jan 1 2023)

Key Responsibilities

Resident Services:

Ensure residents receive quality services per organizational principles and program requirements.

Oversee case‑management team execution and documentation (intakes, assessments, sessions, coordination, advocacy, workshops).

Develop and implement resident support programs (workforce development, financial literacy, etc.).

Maintain a resource network of external providers and service agreements.

Program Management:

Ensure compliance with funding contracts, partnerships, and all applicable laws and regulations.

Achieve program and contractual deliverables; evaluate performance and implement improvement strategies.

Update policy and procedure manuals; disseminate and enforce policies.

Assist with procurement and contract administration; maintain accurate scopes of work.

Submit program reports to CHI, DSS, OTDA, and other oversight agencies.

Handle incident reporting and follow‑up; maintain timely and accurate staff certifications.

Coordinate maintenance of shelter properties to meet housing quality standards.

Investigate and address client complaints.

Supervision & General Duties:

Supervise supervisors, case managers, and residential support specialists.

Troubleshoot difficult cases; provide direct assistance in special‑needs situations.

Document interactions in AWARDS; conduct regular performance meetings and document in Paycom.

Perform duties assigned by VP, Chief Housing Officer, or CEO.

Qualifications

Education:

Master’s degree in Social Work or related field.

Experience:

8+ years overall, including 5+ years supervisory/managerial experience in social work or human services, program administration, and facilities management.

Communication:

Professional and impeccable verbal and written communication skills.

Computer Skills:

Proficient in MS Word, Excel, Outlook; Internet; AWARDS experience preferred.

Math:

Ability to develop and manage program budgets.

Physical Performance:

Ability to conduct unit visits, walk distances, climb stairs.

Reasoning:

Ability to prioritize, make decisions, and exercise sound judgment.
