Director of Engineering
to lead our engineering and maintenance teams in a fast‑paced manufacturing environment. This role will oversee plant engineering, maintenance strategies, capital projects, safety initiatives, and control systems to ensure efficient, safe, and cost‑effective operations. The Director will drive continuous improvement, foster autonomous teams, and manage both on‑site and remote engineering personnel across all manufacturing sites. Key Responsibilities
Lead the engineering and maintenance departments, including strategy development, team management, and performance optimization in a consumer products manufacturing setting. Oversee capital expenditure (CAPEX) projects from planning and budgeting to execution, ensuring projects deliver on time, within budget, and align with production needs and ROI goals. Champion safety programs, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards, implementing risk assessments, and promoting a culture of safety across all engineering and maintenance activities. Direct controls engineering efforts, including automation systems, PLCs, instrumentation, and process controls to enhance reliability and efficiency. Implement and expand autonomous maintenance programs (e.g., TPM pillars like Autonomous Maintenance), empowering operators and teams to perform routine maintenance tasks independently. Build and lead autonomous, cross‑functional teams focused on problem‑solving, continuous improvement, and ownership of equipment performance. Qualifications
Required: Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial, or related field). Minimum of 10 years of progressive experience in maintenance and engineering within a manufacturing environment, preferably in consumer products or consumer goods. Proven experience implementing autonomous maintenance programs and leading autonomous teams. Demonstrated success in managing remote or distributed engineering/maintenance teams. Strong background in CAPEX project management, including budgeting, justification, and execution. Expertise in safety management and controls engineering (e.g., process controls, automation, and instrumentation). Preferred: Advanced degree (e.g., Master’s in Engineering or MBA). Experience in TPM (Total Productive Maintenance), Lean Manufacturing, or Six Sigma. Travel:
