Description SAIC is currently hiring for a SSDS Test and Evaluation position on behalf of Program Executive Office Integrated Warfare System (PEO IWS) Ship Self Defense Integrated Combat System (SSDS ICS) Combat Systems in Washington DC. Your work will include test design, planning, execution, analysis, and reporting for SSDS test events with a focus on cybersecurity developmental testing. This is a hybrid‑remote position; 2 days onsite required weekly.
Job Duties
Identifying system requirements from source documents for verification and validation.
Defining and validating resources needed to test cyber survivability requirements.
Involvement in test planning, budgeting, resource coordination, test execution and reporting.
Identifying the type, quantity and timing of surrogates needed.
Providing programmatic support including organizational coordination with various field activities.
Responsible for creating SSDS CS cyber test strategies for new combat system baselines throughout the acquisition development cycle.
Performing technical writing to include position papers, white papers, test plans and program briefs.
Supporting various working groups and meetings by facilitating meetings, developing meeting minutes, executive summaries, capturing and tracking action items.
This position requires a knowledge of Navy Combat Systems and associated acquisition programs with some basic understanding of cyber.
Qualifications Required Education and Skills
Bachelor's Degree (Technical degree preferred), years of experience may be accepted in lieu of degree.
Knowledgeable of Ship Self Defense (SSDS) system infrastructure.
Familiarity with Red Team/Blue team cyber testing activities.
Technical knowledge of Ship Self Defense Systems (SSDS) and SSDS based platform (CVN, LHA, LPD, etc.) Combat/Warfare System Elements.
Knowledge of Ship Life Cycles and Shipboard Work‑up Schedules.
Operational knowledge of US Navy Ship Systems and programs.
Required Security Clearance
Must have an active Secret clearance on first day of employment.
Desired Certifications
Cybersecurity Workforce Level II cert i.e. Security+ CE, CCNA‑Security, GICSP, GSEC, or SSCP.
Desired Skills
Previous U.S. Navy Active Duty in Enlisted or Officer Positions.
Experience in Test and Certification schedule development and maintenance.
Experience in writing TEMPs, CDDs, Test Plans or other testing documentation.
General Knowledge of database development and maintenance.
Knowledgeable of the DoD Cyber Test & Evaluation Guidebook processes and best practices.
Target salary range:
$40,001 - $80,000. The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors.
