Base pay range $198,000.00/yr - $266,000.00/yr

Meta seeks an experienced transactional attorney to serve as Associate General Counsel supporting media initiatives across Meta’s family of apps (Facebook, Instagram, Messenger, Threads). You will work with partnerships and business development teams to structure, draft, and negotiate contracts with media companies, creators, and talent for distribution and promotion of premium content across Meta’s video surfaces, and support Meta’s consumer‑facing AI initiatives. You will also advise clients on the various legal risks, business strategies and other issues related to commercial transactions and business operations. This is a full‑time position.

Associate General Counsel, Media Partnerships Responsibilities

Provide strategic legal advice and day‑to‑day support to internal stakeholders, with a focus on the Media Partnerships and Content Business Development teams, and high‑impact content and AI initiatives

Serve as legal subject matter specialist on entertainment and media‑related transactions

Draft, negotiate, and close complex content, AI, and marketing partnerships, including bespoke content license, AI collaboration, and brand sponsorships

Actively participate on cross‑functional teams, collaborating with Product, Marketing, Privacy, and various Legal teams to address novel legal and commercial contracting issues

Consult with subject matter experts (e.g., IP, Product counsel, Marketing counsel, Privacy, etc.) as needed

Develop scalable processes for evaluating and executing sophisticated partnership opportunities

Minimum Qualifications

J.D. degree (or foreign equivalent) and membership in at least one US state bar

8+ years of experience as a practicing attorney, including in‑house experience with a media, internet or technology company, or experience in a media‑focused practice group of a law firm

Experience structuring, drafting and negotiating agreements for the development, production and distribution of audiovisual content, including production services agreements, content license agreements, distribution agreements, and above‑the‑line talent agreements

Knowledge of the current digital media landscape, including experience with media‑focused technology and entertainment business models

Preferred Qualifications

Experience working under your own initiative and reacting quickly to make decisions that have both legal and business impact, and managing multiple projects simultaneously under deadline pressure

Experience working effectively and collaboratively cross‑functionally, thinking creatively and being solution‑oriented

Experience providing counsel to internet companies with video products and services offered to consumers

Experience negotiating complex AI and other technology transactions
