Ultrasound Technologist, Ultrasound Department
Schedule
1.0 FTE with Benefits, Day & Mid-Shifts
80 hours per Pay-Period
Includes every other Saturday rotation
Includes every 7th or 8th Weekend (Fri–Sun) On-call Rotation
Includes 1 Holiday Annually On-call Rotation
Job Summary Performs various basic and advanced ultrasound scans & procedures under the direction of the Staff Radiologist and departmental protocols. Provides direct patient care and safety to all patients.
Responsibilities
Performs ultrasound exams per department protocol.
Performs the quality control functions related to ultrasound.
Ensures adherence to hospital policies, protocols, and healthcare regulations.
Maintains high standards of patient safety and quality care.
Works effectively and communicates directly with multidisciplinary teams, staff, & radiologists to ensure superior patient care and services.
Serves as a liaison between staff, patients, families, and hospital administration.
Addresses patient concerns and improves service delivery.
Promotes a positive and collaborative work environment.
Work Experience
3+ years’ experience as an ultrasound technician.
Job Requirements
Excellent oral & written communication skills.
Knowledge and skillset to perform all exams (within the scope of an ultrasound technologist) on patients from the age of newborn to geriatric.
Successful completion of an approved ultrasound program.
ARDMS required.
1 or more certifications in vascular, OB, or abdomen – preferred.
Comprehension of cross‑sectional anatomy & physics of ultrasound theory.
BLS required.
