Job Summary and Qualifications The Administrative Director of Surgical Services has a strategic focus to provide outstanding patient service, grow the service line, develop leadership, and manage resources. They are responsible for maintaining strong physician and administration relationships. They are able to function at a high level business acumen.

Responsibilities

Participate in service, departmental & hospital-wide committees, providing ongoing communication.

Advance customer experience in Surgical Services.

Coach immediate subordinates through feedback, constructive critique, individual development plans, and document performance.

Adhere to all Human Resource policies.

Effective communication of departmental, organization & industry information to staff.

Facilitate evidence-based employee engagement practices.

Build strong relationships & networks to deliver upon organizational & department goals.

Utilize talent review data for pipeline development.

Foster strategic career advancement for perioperative services leaders.

Set strategic vision & goals for the department.

Design standards of care for surgical services and develop processes to measure & ensure consistent compliance.

Develop, implement & evaluate ongoing surgical services program assuring quality patient care consistent with hospital mission.

Monitor compliance with regulatory, accrediting & hospital policy, environmental, patient, & personnel safety.

Oversee a PI program that consistently monitors & evaluates critical aspects of care.

Ensure delivery of quality services in accordance with applicable policies, procedures & professional standards.

Follow Hospital Exposure Control Plans / Bloodborne & Airborne Pathogens.

Promote cooperation & collaboration with other departments, medical staff, auxiliary, and community agencies.

Seek new program strategies & enhancements to expand patient services.

Prioritize & defend capital equipment requests.

Responsible for fiscal management of department; assure proper utilization of organization’s financial resources.

Advance growth agenda for Surgical Services, build strategic relationships with medical staff & medical staff office.

Strive to become the OR of Choice for physicians, patients, staff, & payers in community.

Demonstrate poised & confident demeanor respectfully commands respect.

Promote consistent positive patient interactions advancing unparalleled patient service agenda.

Practice & adhere to “Code of Conduct” philosophy & “Mission and Value Statement”.

Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in nursing required.

Master's degree in Nursing, Business Administration, Healthcare Administration or related field preferred.

3+ years of experience in surgical services required.

3+ years of experience in a leadership role preferred or equivalent combination of education and/or experience.

Currently licensed as a registered professional nurse in the state in which they practice, in accordance with law and regulation required.

Certified Nursing Operating Room (CNOR) preferred.

Certified Surgical Services Manager (CSSM) preferred.
