Overview Siemens EDA is a global technology leader in Electronic Design Automation software. Our tools enable companies around the world to develop highly innovative electronic products faster and more cost‑effectively.

Siemens EDA is looking for a software development engineer to work in the Hardware Assisted Verification (HAV) division. HAV develops and manufactures emulators for functional verification of System‑on‑Chip circuit designs. In emulation systems, custom software compiles a circuit design’s high‑level description into a low‑level binary representation that can be loaded and run on the emulation hardware. The engineer will contribute to the compiler software for next‑generation emulators.

Responsibilities

Develop and improve the compiler component that analyzes customer designs to map them onto emulator resources, including clock and data network analysis, partitioning, placement, and logic synthesis.

Design and implement new functionality for the compiler and support current features.

Write system‑level tests and develop new testing methods using software simulation.

Collaborate with other software teams and Veloce hardware teams across multiple sites.

Work primarily in C++ on Linux.

Qualifications

BS, MS, or PhD in Computer Science or Computer Engineering.

0 to 3 years of industry experience developing large C++ applications as part of a team.

Demonstrated experience with algorithm and data‑structure design.

Understanding of gate‑level digital logic design.

Ability to work both independently and in a team‑oriented development environment.

Must be able to work onsite at Waltham, MA.

Desired Skills

Experience in EDA software development, especially with timing analysis, synthesis, design partitioning, or placement.

Software engineering experience in Unix/Linux environments.

Experience with software testing methods.

Experience with hardware description languages (Verilog/VHDL).

Experience with simulation tools (e.g., ModelSim).

Knowledge of scripting languages such as Python or shell script.

This position is subject to U.S. export control requirements under the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) and/or Export Administration Regulations (EAR). Employment is contingent on verifying U.S. Person status or obtaining any necessary export license.

Pay range: $90,000 – $162,000 annually with a target incentive of 3–5% of the base salary.
