JR101471**Job Description Summary:**The Senior Poultry Production Manager is responsible for providing strategic leadership and operational oversight for multiple poultry production sites within the complex. This role ensures optimal bird performance, flock health, operational efficiency, regulatory compliance, and alignment with corporate production goals. The Senior Manager will lead farm managers and production teams, collaborate cross-functionally with corporate departments, and ensure all sites adhere to Aviagen standards for quality, safety, and biosecurity.**Job Description:****Key Duties & Responsibilities****Leadership & Management:*** Provide high-level leadership, coaching, and development to farm managers, production supervisors, and farm staff.* Foster a teamwork-oriented culture focused on accountability, productivity, and excellence.* Ensure consistent and fair enforcement of company policies across all sites.* Lead departmental meetings, training initiatives, and farm operations reviews.**Operational Oversight:*** Oversee the daily and long-term operations of multiple poultry production locations, including bird care, feeding programs, water availability, ventilation management, and housing conditions.* Ensure each site produces birds that meet or exceed performance, uniformity, and quality targets.* Direct and support maintenance, repair planning, and facility improvements for all assigned farms.* Supervise the scheduling of flock placement, production cycles, labor, and resource allocation.**Bird Health, Welfare & Biosecurity:*** Maintain overall responsibility for flock well-being, performance, and biosecurity compliance across all locations.* Monitor flock health indicators and coordinate corrective actions with farm managers and the company veterinarian.* Ensure proper mortality disposal, pest control, and litter management in accordance with internal policies and regulatory standards.**Compliance & Recordkeeping:*** Ensure all production sites comply with Aviagen standards, environmental and safety regulations, and animal welfare requirements.* Maintain accurate and timely production records, including flock data, downtime reports, and other required documentation.* Drive adherence to ESH (Environmental, Safety, Health) requirements across all facilities.**Cost Management & Resource Efficiency:*** Manage feed usage, production expenses, and operational costs to meet budgetary goals.* Identify opportunities for cost reduction while maintaining product quality and safety standards.* Coordinate with Maintenance, HR, Accounting, and Compliance departments to ensure efficient and aligned operations.**Cross-Functional Collaboration:*** Work closely with senior leadership, Operations Management, Farm Compliance, Maintenance, Safety, HR, and Accounting.* Maintain strong communication with corporate leadership regarding farm performance, safety concerns, staffing needs, and operational issues.* Encourage and evaluate suggestions from employees for improvements in safety, production, processes, or cost control.**Qualifications & Requirements:*** Bachelor’s degree in Poultry Science, Animal Science, Biology, Operations Management, Agriculture, or related field; or equivalent experience.* 5–7+ years of poultry production leadership experience, including multi-site or complex-level management preferred.* Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.* Proven ability to motivate, train, and supervise large teams.* Competent in Microsoft Office and capable of learning production-related software systems.* Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.* Able to work in various climate conditions, including farm environments.* Must be able to lift 50 lbs.* Willingness to work nights, weekends, holidays, and respond to urgent operational needs.* Ability to multitask and thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.**Preferred Competencies:*** Experience managing pedigree or breeder operations.* Strong understanding of biosecurity programs and regulatory compliance.* Ability to identify operational inefficiencies and implement effective corrective actions.* Demonstrated ability to manage budget targets and operational KPIs.We are an equal opportunity employer and all qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to race, color, religion, sex, national origin, disability status, protected veteran status, or any other characteristic protected by law.We play a leading role in feeding the world's future generations.
