Amazon EFS (Elastic File System) is looking for a dynamic and seasoned product leader to help define and build the future of cloud‑based file storage. Customers worldwide rely on Amazon EFS for scalable, elastic, high‑performance, secure, and cost‑effective shared file storage to support their growing infrastructure needs.
Key Responsibilities As senior product manager you will own and drive product management across the Amazon EFS portfolio, including performance modes, throughput modes, storage classes, lifecycle management, and integration with other AWS services. You will be responsible for end‑to‑end ownership of current and new features targeting a broad spectrum of file storage workloads (e.g., content management, web serving, data analytics, machine learning training, home directories, container storage) across mission‑critical, enterprise, machine learning, and emerging domains. You will define the roadmap for new products and features at the intersection of file storage and cloud technologies (e.g., NFS protocol enhancements, performance optimization, data durability, replication, encryption, intelligent tiering). You will manage portfolio strategy, product definition, feature prioritization, messaging, pricing, adoption, customer interaction, sales enablement, and team development, while identifying and driving operational improvements and cost reductions.
Working closely with and across agile teams, you will see and feel the impact of your work on our customers. This is a high‑visibility, high‑impact role that interacts with all levels of AWS leadership.
About the Team The EFS team delivers fully managed, cloud‑native file storage services for customers ranging from startups to well‑known enterprises. As a member of the broader Storage Services Product Management team, you will join other highly respected product and engineering leaders to create the future of cloud file storage.
Basic Qualifications
5+ years of technical product management with internet business experience
5+ years of technical experience (software development, network development, IT, or related)
5+ years of working as a Technical Product Manager
7+ years of full product life‑cycle experience
5+ years of P&L management and pricing experience
5+ years of creating written documentation for product development
Bachelor's degree in a quantitative/technical field such as computer science, engineering, or statistics
Experience taking a product from conception & definition through engineering design to market
Experience delivering large‑scale SaaS, PaaS, or LaaS products with full lifecycle responsibility, from concept through go‑to‑market
Preferred Qualifications
Knowledge of engineering practices and patterns for the full software/hardware/network development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, certification, and livesite operations
Experience working within teams delivering software products and features using agile methodologies
Experience collaborating with customers, technical teams, and management to collect requirements and describe product features and technical designs
Product management experience preferably with IT infrastructure including storage, file systems, networking, or internet business experience
Knowledge of file storage workloads, file system protocols (NFS, SMB), distributed file systems, and cloud storage architectures
Knowledge of file storage performance optimization, caching strategies, and storage tiering

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several U.S. geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $137,000/year in our lowest geographic market up to $236,800/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job‑related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
