Overview Merrick & Company is seeking qualified applicants for a full‑time Senior Water/Wastewater Project Manager position in our Denver, Greenwood Village, Colorado Springs, or Loveland, Colorado offices. This position requires an experienced project manager with a history of successfully winning and delivering projects.
Salary range for this position is $175,000.00 – $230,000.00. Base pay offered may vary depending on job‑related knowledge, skills, and experience.

What You’ll Do
Direct and manage a multi‑discipline team of design engineers or technicians on water and wastewater projects.
Provide input to and participate in strategic planning for the team, working closely with the Business Unit management team to identify growth, project delivery, staffing, and financial performance.
Adopt and apply all Merrick policies and procedures on assignments.
Work closely with clients to effectively describe and deliver scope of work.
Prepare and oversee fee proposals for water and wastewater design work.
Lead design teams and perform independent planning and design tasks, review designs of others, prepare construction documents, and manage successful delivery of assigned projects.
Exercise initiative, judgment, and knowledge commensurate with the responsibilities of the position.
Demonstrate strong interpersonal skills and effectively interface with clients and community members.
Apply in‑depth knowledge of water treatment, conveyance, wastewater treatment, and associated infrastructure.
Show design experience and familiarity with applying State and Federal regulations; experience with construction observation is preferred.
Maintain a long‑term successful record of business development, project management, scheduling, and budgeting for medium to large, complex civil engineering design efforts.
Show proficiency in client development, preparing successful proposals in collaboration with marketing and business development teams.
Demonstrate successful management of design teams, including design engineers, CAD technicians, and subconsultants.
Foster positive relationships with clients, government agencies, and community representatives.
Perform independent design tasks, peer reviews, prepare construction documents (design drawings, specifications), cost estimates, and manage design and permitting team deliverables.
Show experience working with team members across different offices or geographies.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering from an A.B.E.T. Accredited School.
Twenty (20) plus years of experience in infrastructure engineering with fifteen (15) years in Project Management.
Colorado Professional Engineering (PE) license.
Strong technical design experience in water and wastewater projects.
Proven track record of successful project delivery.
Valid driver’s license, good driving record, and insurability under Merrick’s insurance carrier.
Eligibility to work in the United States without sponsorship.
Travel required.
Desired Qualifications
Master’s degree in engineering (preferred but not required if successful project experience is demonstrated).
Envision (ENV SP) credential from the Institute for Sustainable Infrastructure (preferred but not required).
