The team you will be a part of
Our Radio Development R&D Team is looking for motivated junior hardware engineers to be a part of a team involved in the development, testing, and design maintenance of 5G/6G cellular base stations.
We are seeking engineers with up-to-date knowledge in cutting‑edge technologies, including Artificial Intelligence / Machine Learning (AI/ML), Virtual Design and simulations, Automation, Data Analytics, 3D modeling and thermodynamics, Gallium Nitride (GaN) Power amplifier (PA), sustainable energy savings, and Cloud Computing, which enable faster time to market and ultimate product quality, the best in the industry.
What you will learn and contribute to Participate in developing mechanical assemblies in one or more of the following areas:
Design and verification of metal castings, sheet metal, stampings, plastic injection moldings, elastomeric gaskets, connectors, etc.
Identify or develop mechanical parts and create the information needed to support the suppliers and manufacturing sites to produce the designs for both prototypes and mass production.
Have a working knowledge of functional dimensioning, geometric tolerancing as well as worst‑case and statistical tolerance analysis techniques.
Possess a basic proficiency in finite element analysis, computational fluid dynamics simulation, and general engineering analysis.
Required skills
BS in Mechanical Engineering;
Excellent theoretical and practical understanding of mechanical design with emphasis on EMI containment, heat transfer, cooling techniques & environmental protection;
Experience with CAD tools preferably PTC Creo 5 or higher;
Experience with thermal modeling simulation tools -- preferably Flotherm XT;
Experience with FEA simulation tools preferably ANSYS or Creo Simulate;
Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite - primarily Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
It would be nice if you also had
Previous Nokia co‑op experience
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Good time management, planning, and organizational skills
Good mechanical aptitude with experience using power and hand tools found in a machine shop
Adept Problem Solver
Works well in a team environment
Able to travel internationally.
