Job Responsibilities
Design, develop, and maintain automated, stable, and scalable BI and analytics solutions using SQL-driven data models to support clinical and operational priorities related to quality, safety, and performance.
Write and optimize complex SQL queries, stored procedures, and functions to extract, transform, and analyze data from enterprise data warehouses and source systems.
Develop and maintain SQL scripts and automated jobs (e.g., scheduled processes, refresh routines, data pipelines) to support recurring reporting and analytics needs.
Perform data cleansing, validation, and transformation to ensure accuracy, consistency, and reliability of analytical datasets.
Identify the most efficient data sources and develop standardized analytical datasets, metrics, and statistical algorithms for quality, patient experience, volume, and financial measures.
Ensure data integrity by collaborating closely with the Tenet EDW/BI team on database structures, data definitions, interfaces, and data quality standards.
Build and enhance dashboards, reports, and user interfaces using tools such as Business Objects and Power BI, with a strong SQL foundation supporting all reporting layers.
Define problem statements, analytical scope, development timelines, and strategic prioritization in partnership with senior leaders and key stakeholders.
Translate complex SQL‑based analyses into clear, actionable insights for hospital and ambulatory operators.
Train and educate end users on how to effectively interpret and use reports, dashboards, and underlying metrics.
Participate in team initiatives and support additional analytics deliverables as needed.
Skills and Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree required in finance, economics, statistics, computer science, or a related field
Master’s degree preferred
5+ years of experience in data analytics, reporting, or a healthcare analytics environment
Advanced SQL expertise, including complex queries, joins, stored procedures, functions, and performance tuning
Hands‑on experience developing SQL scripts for automation, scheduled jobs, and recurring data processes
Strong experience with data cleansing, transformation, and validation within large relational databases
Proficiency with data visualization and reporting tools such as Business Objects and Power BI
Experience with statistical and analytical tools such as R and/or SAS; Python scripting experience is a plus
Strong technical skills with an emphasis on working with large, complex datasets
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint, Visio)
Strong project management, communication, and collaborative problem‑solving skills
Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously in a fast‑paced environment
