The Assistant Principal assists the Principal in the continuous operation of Basalt Elementary School, ensuring every student develops the enduring knowledge, skills, and character to thrive in a changing world. Responsibilities

Strategic Leadership: Partner with the Principal to develop and advance the school’s vision, mission, values, and goals. Instructional Leadership: Create schedules and processes that maximize student success; support teachers with actionable feedback and needs‑based professional development. School Cultural & Equity Leadership: Articulate, model, and reinforce a clear vision of the school’s culture and foster an inclusive climate. Human Resource Leadership: Establish and manage systems that ensure a high‑quality, high‑performing staff. Managerial Leadership: Design systems to improve student learning, manage interactions, and provide supervision of the school campus. External Leadership: Build structures that engage families and community, and leverage district and community resources. Qualifications

Minimum of three years teaching experience or equivalent three‑year administration experience, preferably in elementary school. Master’s degree from an accredited college in education or related field. Possession or enrollment in a program to obtain a Principal’s license through the Colorado Department of Education; valid Colorado driver’s license. Knowledge of elementary curriculum development, data‑based instructional practices, positive discipline, and effective public speaking. Strong communication skills, both oral and written, and the ability to build professional trust. Salary & Benefits

Salary range: $90,451 – $108,143. Exempt position, 204 days/year. The district offers full paid health benefit, dental, vision, retirement plan under Colorado PERA, paid parental leave, employee assistance programs, and community benefit discounts.
