We are seeking an experienced Interim Head of Business Systems to lead the implementation of Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central for a growing, private equity–backed food and beverage company. This role will play a critical leadership position during a period of transformation, helping modernize core business systems, support operational scale, and establish strong system governance.
The successful candidate will act as the primary owner of the ERP platform, working closely with executive leadership, functional stakeholders, implementation partners, and the private equity sponsor. This role is initially a 12-month contract with the potential to convert to a permanent position based on business needs and performance.
Key Responsibilities
Lead the end-to-end implementation of Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central (or migration from Dynamics NAV).
Serve as the internal product owner for Business Central, defining system vision, roadmap, and priorities.
Partner with external implementation consultants to ensure delivery on time, within scope, and on budget.
Oversee system configuration, integrations, testing, data migration, and go-live readiness.
Collaborate with Finance, Supply Chain, Operations, Manufacturing, and Sales teams to gather requirements and translate them into system solutions.
Ensure Business Central supports food & beverage–specific needs such as inventory management, lot/batch tracking, production, and costing.
Act as a trusted advisor to executive leadership on system capabilities and process improvements.
Support PE-driven initiatives such as operational scalability, reporting standardization, and post-investment value creation.
Provide clear communication and status reporting to executive leadership and investors.
Prepare the organization for future growth, add-on acquisitions, or further system expansion.
Required Qualifications
8+ years of experience in business systems, ERP leadership, or IT transformation roles.
Hands‑on experience with Microsoft Dynamics NAV and/or Dynamics 365 Business Central (required).
Proven track record leading ERP implementations, preferably in food & beverage, manufacturing, or distribution environments.
Experience working with private equity–backed companies or in fast‑paced, transformation settings.
Strong understanding of finance, supply chain, inventory, and operational processes.
Ability to lead cross‑functional teams and manage external vendors.
Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
