Summary Join HII as we keep the world’s most powerful Navy afloat! This full‑time Purchasing Representative position is for the COMNAVAIRPAC Carrier Engineering Maintenance Assist Team (CEMAT) and will manage procurement and distribution of materials, including vendor quotes, requisitions, and verification of received goods for use on CVNs. Located in San Diego, CA.
What You Will Do
Obtaining vendor quotes.
Processing requisitions in the Supply Logistics Information Management Program (SLIMP).
Processing requisitions in CostPoint.
Ensuring material received by the government is the correct material.
Issuing material for use on CVNs.
Experience You Must Have
6 years relevant experience with a Bachelor’s in a related field; 4 years relevant experience with a Master’s in a related field; or High School Diploma with 10 years relevant experience.
Experience generating material requisitions in the US Navy Supply system as a contractor, government employee, or while serving in the US Navy.
Experience using Relational Supply (R‑Supply) and Organization Maintenance Management System (OMMS‑NG).
Experience researching, ordering, and shipping material.
Experience using logistics tools such as Haystack, OneTouch, and Fedlog.
Maintaining material inventory and issuing material.
Creating, maintaining, verifying, and filling required requisition forms, bills of lading, records, and files.
Reconciling invoices.
Generating status reports on logistics activities and issues.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Strong computer skills.
Must be able to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret Security clearance.
Must be able to obtain a CAC badge and base/ship access and maintain them.
Preferred: Bonus Points
One or more assignments onboard a US Navy Aircraft Carrier.
US Navy Supply background as active‑duty Navy and/or as a contractor.
A current or active DoD security clearance.
Physical Requirements May require working in an office, industrial, shipboard, or laboratory environment. Capable of climbing ladders and tolerating confined spaces and extreme temperature variances.
