As part of this effort, the Object Storage Service team is looking for hands‑on engineers with expertise and passion in solving difficult problems in distributed systems, large‑scale storage, and scaling services to meet future growth. Responsibilities
As a Principal Member of Technical Staff, you will be called upon to lead major projects and have significant participation in design and architecture. You will be expected to act as a technical leader on your team and demonstrate core values for other more junior engineers. You should be both a rock‑solid coder and a distributed systems generalist, able to dive deep into any part of the stack and low‑level systems, as well as design broad distributed system interactions. You should value simplicity and scale, work comfortably in a collaborative, agile environment, and be excited to learn. Qualifications
Bachelors or Masters in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related field. 8‑12+ years experience delivering and operating large‑scale, highly available distributed systems. Storage knowledge is a plus. Cloud experience is a plus. Proven experience with a major Object‑Oriented Programming language such as Java or C++. Strong knowledge of data structures, algorithms, operating systems, and distributed systems fundamentals. Very strong knowledge of databases, storage and distributed persistence technologies. Strong troubleshooting and performance tuning skills. Compensation & Benefits
US: Hiring Range in USD from: $96,800 to $223,400 per annum. May be eligible for bonus and equity. Vacation accrual is prorated for employees working between 20 and 34 hours per week. Unused balance will carry over each year up to a maximum cap of 112 hours.
