Base Pay Range $100,000.00/yr – $130,000.00/yr
Position Overview A well‑established, financially stable commercial general contractor seeks an experienced Safety Director to lead, enhance, and continuously evolve its company‑wide safety program. This is a true leadership role with executive support and authority to influence culture, policy, and field execution across multiple projects.
Key Responsibilities
Lead and manage company‑wide safety programs across active commercial projects
Develop, implement, and continuously improve safety policies, procedures, and training programs
Serve as a strategic partner to executive leadership, project managers, and superintendents
Conduct jobsite safety audits, risk assessments, and field observations
Analyze incident data, trends, and leading indicators to drive improvement
Oversee OSHA compliance, incident investigations, and corrective action plans
Lead safety training, orientations, and leadership development initiatives
Act as a mentor and resource to field leadership and safety personnel
Promote a culture of accountability, ownership, and continuous improvement
Qualifications
8+ years of construction safety experience, with at least 3 years in a leadership or director‑level role
Strong background in commercial construction (ground‑up preferred)
Thorough knowledge of OSHA regulations and best safety practices
Proven ability to influence and lead without relying solely on authority
Experience building or enhancing company‑wide safety programs
Strong communication and relationship‑building skills
Preferred Credentials
CSP, CHST, or equivalent safety certification
OSHA 500
OSHA 510
Experience supporting multiple project teams simultaneously
Background working with executive leadership and ownership
