Onsite Mechanical Engineer Support

We are seeking an Onsite Mechanical Engineer to support new product development and ongoing sustenance engineering for Finelite lighting products. The ideal candidate will work closely with cross‑functional teams, suppliers, and manufacturing to deliver high-quality mechanical designs and ensure successful product lifecycle execution.
Key Responsibilities Product Development & Design
Lead new product development, including concept creation, mechanical design, and engineering detailing.
Perform 3D CAD modeling and generate 2D manufacturing drawings.
Prepare tooling and production drawings for release to manufacturing.
Prototyping & Testing
Build prototypes for mechanical, environmental, and compliance testing.
Prepare test plans, conduct validation and testing, and document results.
Engineering Analysis & Documentation
Conduct and review Design & Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (DFMEA).
Create installation manuals, assembly instructions, and wiring diagrams.
Support spec sheet development and BOM preparation.
Provide engineering support for existing products (value engineering, cost‑saving initiatives).
Perform competitive benchmarking to drive design improvements.
Manage changes through Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) systems.
Cross‑Functional Collaboration
Coordinate with suppliers, manufacturing, quality, and other internal teams to resolve design and production issues.
Required Skills & Experience
Strong hands‑on experience in mechanical design using 3D CAD tools.
Proficiency in engineering drawing creation, GD&T, and mechanical detailing.
Experience with lighting products preferred (not mandatory).
Knowledge of validation testing, DFMEA, and PLM systems.
Ability to work onsite and collaborate with cross‑functional teams.
