Job Overview The Solutions (Application) Architect will work within Connected Technologies, providing technical solutioning and architectural leadership for enterprise and cloud-native applications. This role is focused on designing, proposing, and governing technical strategies—not hands‑on coding—while partnering closely with engineering, security, and business teams to deliver scalable, secure, and compliant solutions. This position supports a connected vehicle program and requires strong expertise in microservices, AWS cloud, security, and DevSecOps practices. An Export Control form is required at onboarding.
Key Responsibilities
Contribute to the
Enterprise Architecture strategy , establishing standards, frameworks, and guidelines
Analyze complex business and technical problems and design
end‑to‑end application architectures
Partner with technology teams and business stakeholders to conceptualize new solutions and recommend
technologies and implementation strategies
Author and review
architecture, design, and technical documents
to ensure high‑quality deliverables
Review technical approaches to ensure
functional and non‑functional requirements
are met
Mentor and guide technical teams across multiple architecture styles and technologies
Provide guidance on
testing strategy, performance testing, profiling, and tuning
Define and communicate complex technical solutions in
clear business language
Enforce
architecture governance , standards, and principles toward target‑state architecture
Create
Level 1 architecture diagrams
(vehicle‑to‑cloud, channel‑to‑cloud, system architecture)
Collaborate with
cybersecurity and web security
teams to ensure compliance
Act as an individual contributor who enjoys
collaboration, mentoring, and security‑first design
Required Skills & Qualifications (Must Haves) Architecture & Cloud
10+ years
of IT experience;
3+ years
as an Architect
Strong experience in
Microservices Architecture
(Kubernetes‑focused)
AWS cloud experience (mandatory)
with strong emphasis on
security and privacy
Experience with
DevSecOps / DevOps
practices
Programming & Design
Mastery in
one or more
of:
Java, Golang, Python
Strong understanding of
distributed systems
and application design principles
Experience creating
UML or C4
architecture representations
Delivery & Collaboration
Ability to act as a
trusted advisor
to application teams
Experience working in
Agile/JIRA
environments
Strong problem‑solving, communication, and stakeholder engagement skills
Preferred / Nice‑to‑Have
Knowledge of
authentication/authorization standards
(OpenID, SAML, OAuth, JWT, X.509, mTLS)
Familiarity with
TOGAF , service mesh concepts, and TechRadar practices
Experience maintaining
application roadmaps
and long‑term architecture strategies
Exposure to
mobile technologies, OCPP protocol, or Machine Learning modeling
Compliance & Notes
