Senior Quality Engineer, Cell Tabless – Tesla Join Tesla’s Cell Engineering team as a Senior Quality Engineer. In this role you will lead a quality assurance team to ensure that cell products meet the highest standards of quality and reliability.

What You’ll Do

Lead and manage a team of quality engineers and technicians, providing guidance and support to achieve quality goals.

Act as the cell quality expert and collaborate with Product Design, Equipment Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Controls, Production, Maintenance, and other cross‑functional teams to design and operate production lines that produce high‑quality, high‑performance cells.

Apply engineering principles and analytical techniques to drive continuous improvement of manufacturing processes.

Lead root‑cause analysis and resolution of manufacturing quality issues using 8D methodology and other structured problem‑solving tools.

Track quality performance metrics, prioritize top issues, and drive continuous improvement activities with cross‑functional teams.

Lead FMEA activities to identify and mitigate design and manufacturing risks.

Collaborate with New Product Introduction (NPI) to initiate and implement product, process, equipment, and other changes that improve manufacturability and field performance via Process Change Approval (PCA).

Drive cross‑functional projects with manufacturing, supply chain, production quality, and research teams to test existing and determine new product specifications and tolerances.

Develop product and process control plans, inspection standards, testing plans, work instructions, and manufacturing validation plans to ensure manufacturing capability and product reliability.

Manage non‑conforming cell process flows via containment and evaluate suspect materials while working closely with internal and external teams to identify disposition and resolve root cause.

What You’ll Bring

Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, Manufacturing Engineering, or equivalent experience.

5+ years of experience in quality engineering or a related field, with a proven track record of success in leading quality assurance efforts.

Experience with ISO 9001, ISO/TS, IATF 16949, APQP, and PPAP.

Strong data analysis and visualization skills (Tableau, JMP, Minitab, etc.).

Experience transitioning products from prototype to production and introducing new equipment and processes into a production environment.

Experience with a broad variety of measurement and inspection techniques.

Knowledge of data analysis languages (SQL, Python, R, MATLAB, etc.).

Experience in automotive or high‑volume manufacturing is highly desired.
