Pay Range: $25.00 - $30.04. This position provides a safe and secure environment for patients, visitors, and staff at assigned locations or areas. Key Essential Functions and Accountabilities of the Job
Patrols campus and assigned areas to monitor for conditions or situations which pose a risk to the safety of people or property.
Provides routine comprehensive security services, including:
Assistance with patient restraint
Intervention in disruptions by patients
Traffic control
Guarding and patrolling physical property
Escorting visitors and employees
Monitoring systems
Orienting and monitoring of personnel working in high‑risk areas
Investigation of incidents
Access control
Enforcement of visitor policies
Respond to emergencies
Respirator fit testing
Hazard surveillance surveys
Participation in emergency drills
Public assistance requests
Other duties as assigned.
Education, Certifications, and Licenses Required
High School Diploma or equivalent
Valid Alaska driver’s license
Basic Life Support (BLS) within 90 days
IAHSS Basic certification within 3 months
Experience Required
Six months of security‑related experience
Knowledge of
Security policies and procedures
Skills In
Effective communication
Ability to
Defuse potential security situations, including aggressive individuals
Exercise good judgement in stressful and emergent situations
