Program Overview

The Commonwealth Fund is a private foundation established in 1918 to promote a high‑performing health care system that achieves better access, improved quality, and greater efficiency, particularly for society’s most vulnerable populations. The Fund supports independent research on health care issues and makes grants to improve health care practice and policy. Responsibilities

Manage all aspects of the grant process, including preparation of grant proposals, timetables, payment and reporting schedules, letters of agreement, and tracking of grantee products and budgets. Support the development of grant proposals, conduct background research, refine proposals with potential grantees, and assist in internal reviews. Liaise with the Fund’s Communications staff to support publication of grant products and track publication progress. Track the Policy team’s grant budget and provide regular updates on spending. Provide logistical and content support for policymaker education efforts (briefings, webinars, convenings, etc.). Oversee systems to track and disseminate policy updates and resources, as well as the Fund’s policy engagement and impact. Provide research and writing support for Fund publications and prepare materials, slides, and charts for internal and external meetings. Represent the Policy team at meetings and conferences as requested. Manage the calendar of the Senior Vice President for Policy and provide general administrative support to the Policy team. Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s degree preferred. 3 to 5 years of relevant work experience, preferably in health policy or policy research. Adept at data visualization and proficient use of databases and Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint). Experience in analyzing and interpreting data, meeting management, and multitasking to meet multiple tight deadlines. Excellent written and oral communication skills and the ability to act independently within standard guidelines. Passion for exploring new ways to connect data and policy recommendations to federal and state policy audiences. Location

Washington, DC Salary & How to Apply

The starting salary range for this position is $66,196 - $82,745 depending on professional experience.
