The Treasury Accounting team blends the disciplines of application support, application enhancements, and process innovation. The team is responsible for creating and sustaining business process automations, analytics, and reporting deliveries. We partner with several accounting lines of business, helping them achieve their business automation goals.
As an Accounting Senior Manager, you will be in charge of managing end‑to‑end financial reporting processes, leveraging automation and analytics to drive efficiencies within the Controllers value stream. You will apply your Finance and Accounting background and strategic analytical skills to address major Controllers challenges. You will work in a collaborative environment that values your insights, encourages you to take on new responsibilities, promotes continuous learning, and rewards innovation. We use tools such as Python and SQL to drive efficiencies in day‑to‑day processes and proactively communicate with partners and leadership to shape priorities through data analysis, metrics gathering, pain‑point identification, and business‑process rationalization.
Role Responsibilities
Partner with Treasury, Capital Markets, Technology Operations, Balance Sheet, Liquidity management teams to assess overall strategies and determine how accounting rules and processes impact business decisions, while anticipating issues and obstacles.
Manage a team of onshore and offshore associates through well‑managed and controlled accounting activities related to derivatives, investments and debt activities.
Communicate complex matters in a simple way during month‑end close presentations to Controller leadership and during regular business discussions.
Drive ad‑hoc business analysis to display how business actions impact our financial results and our accounting policy decisions.
Define requirements, validate content, and solve business problems; frequently using automation tools to drive efficiencies.
Continually learn about new technologies as they emerge and apply them within the context of your role.
Provide accounting/financial services subject‑matter expertise on project implementation efforts, and develop new automations of existing manual processes.
Display passion for coaching and developing a team of associates, inspiring them to drive efficiencies and reduce risk through process improvements.
Review and maintain supporting documentation to substantiate information included in SEC and regulatory filings and disclosures.
Provide technical support on accounting disclosures to ensure compliance with U.S. GAAP, SEC regulations and regulatory requirements.
Implement appropriate risk management of processes, procedures and standards while incorporating updates as a result of changing business factors.
Assist in external audit coordination and internal audit reviews.
Support ongoing SOX and regulatory compliance requirements.
Basic Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree or military experience.
At least 7 years of experience in accounting, audit or finance, or a combination.
At least 3 years of experience in people management.
Preferred Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance.
Active Certified Public Accountant (CPA) license.
9+ years of experience in accounting, audit or finance, or a combination.
5+ years of experience in people management.
5+ years of experience with financial institutions.
