Superintendent – Field Operations Base pay range: $120,000.00/yr - $165,000.00/yr

Annual salary range noted above based on experience and qualifications. Employees in this role are also eligible for a discretionary annual bonus, up to 10% of their base salary, dependent on both individual performance and company financial results.

Responsibilities

Lead onsite construction efforts from preconstruction through closeout, ensuring work is completed safely, on time, and within budget.

Create safety, phasing, and logistics plans during preconstruction and refine them throughout the project lifecycle, ensuring associated costs are incorporated into project budgets.

Develop and maintain the master project schedule and look‑ahead schedules, collaborating closely with Project Management and trade partners to stay on track.

Coordinate subcontractor‑procured and owner‑furnished equipment and materials to ensure proper construction sequencing and minimize delays.

Conduct regular site inspections, enforce safety standards, and ensure full compliance with company and client requirements.

Document QA/QC issues identified during the punch list and commissioning process, ensuring prompt resolution and high‑quality outcomes.

Build and maintain strong working relationships with owners, architects, engineers, and subcontractors to foster collaboration and trust.

Assist the Project Manager in reviewing and submitting change orders promptly with proper documentation and clear communication.

Establish agendas and lead field‑based meetings, including Foreman Meetings, Daily Huddles, and Subcontractor Coordination Meetings, capturing and distributing key takeaways.

Mentor and guide Project Foremen, Assistant Superintendents, and Field Engineers, ensuring they meet expectations and continue developing their skills.

Attend monthly profit review meetings and collaborate with the Project Management team to monitor progress and maintain cost control.

Qualifications

5 or more years of experience in a supervisory capacity in the construction or engineering field.

Thorough knowledge of all aspects of construction, including technology, equipment, methods, scheduling, safety, and quality.

Experience working on multifamily construction projects highly preferred.

Field Leadership – Proven ability to manage all on‑site construction activities from start to closeout with minimal oversight.

Strategic Planning – Skilled in developing and adjusting short‑ and long‑term plans to meet evolving project goals.

Risk Management – Ability to identify and mitigate risks related to safety, schedule, quality, and budget.

Relationship Building – Strong interpersonal skills to foster effective partnerships with clients, architects, and subcontractors.

Operational Excellence – Expertise in driving field productivity, efficiency, and quality through best practices.

Safety Leadership – Commitment to promoting and maintaining a proactive safety culture on the jobsite.

Financial Acumen – Experience managing labor costs, ensuring scope compliance, and supporting project profitability.

Team Development – Ability to mentor, coach, and develop Assistant Superintendents, Field Engineers, and other field staff.

Decisive Problem Solving – Confident decision‑maker under pressure with a focus on timely action.

Accountability – Holds self and team to high standards of performance, responsibility, and conduct.
