Assistant Project Manager
– Boston, MA Salary: $65,000–$80,000 (announced 2 days ago)
Overview OHLA USA builds safer, more sustainable structures and values its people as the main asset. The Assistant Project Manager (APM) partners with the field leadership team to deliver safe, high‑quality, profitable projects for clients. The APM maintains client relationships, ensures on‑time, under‑budget delivery, and provides updates and profit projections to senior management.
Responsibilities
Directs project team communication, coordination, and follow‑up to meet goals
Maintains ongoing training and mentoring of the project team
Reports to senior management with project information and reviews as required
Coordinates training and compliance measures to ensure procedures are followed
Defines scope, schedule, and budget for all participants, including the client
Controls and maintains overall project and discipline schedules and budgets
Tracks milestones and takes necessary action to keep project on track
Secures approvals for all scope, budget, and schedule changes
Communicates with client to adjust deliverables while complying with contractual obligations
Follows OHL North America policies and safety procedures
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or related field / equivalent experience
5+ years heavy civil construction field experience
Experience managing multiple Project Engineers
Safety‑oriented; 10‑hour and 30‑hour OSHA certificates preferred
Strong organizational and time‑management skills
Strong work ethic – willing to do what it takes to get the job done
Team builder and player mindset
Ability to freely access all points of a construction site in varied climates and environments
