Production Engineer (University Grad) – Meta
We are looking for a Production Engineer (PE) to help build the underlying infrastructure that keeps Meta’s products running smoothly and scaling efficiently. PEs work across Meta’s product and infrastructure teams, writing high‑quality code, solving complex problems in live production, and tackling challenges that impact billions of users worldwide.
Base pay range:
$117,000.00/yr - $137,000.00/yr
Responsibilities
Own back‑end services that handle fleet management, front‑end services such as WhatsApp / Instagram / Facebook / Meta Ads, infrastructure components that drive Meta’s advances in AI, core services used by every team at Meta, the world’s largest MySQL deployments, networking systems and everything in between.
Write and review code, develop documentation and capacity plans, and debug the hardest problems, live, on some of the largest and most complex systems in the world.
Share an on‑call rotation and be an escalation contact for service incidents.
Partner with top engineers to produce code and systems that go into production and are used by billions of people worldwide.
Minimum Qualifications
Currently has, or is in the process of obtaining, a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, a relevant technical field, or equivalent practical experience. Degree must be completed prior to joining Meta.
Experience in *nix (Linux, BSDs, or another UNIX‑like OS).
Experience coding in an industry‑standard language (e.g. Java, Python, C++, PHP).
Experience picking up software, frameworks and APIs.
Must obtain and maintain work authorization in the country of employment at the time of hire.
Preferred Qualifications
Understanding of TCP/IP networking fundamentals.
Experience with an RDBMS like MySQL or Postgres.
Knowledge of internet service architectures (such as load balancing, LAMP, CDN’s).
Experience solving complex problems and comparing alternative solutions, trade‑offs, and different perspectives to determine a path forward.
Experience working and communicating cross‑functionally in a team environment.
