The Director of Research & Senior PM is responsible for managing portfolios for an assigned book of business in excess of $200mm AUM, in addition to handling the overall research functions of the asset management team. Duties include: managing investment portfolios; supervising research on the stocks, bonds, mutual funds, ETFs and other investments used in portfolios; evaluating and determining corporate action decisions. Support the Chief Investment Officer in all other aspects of the account management and portfolio construction and analysis.
Position Accountabilities
Manage and monitor portfolios for an assigned book of business.
Supervise asset management, research, and analysis for investment products and strategies with AUM in excess of $700 million.
Lead equity strategy committee.
Supervise and enhance investment screening process.
Prepare new account and annual Reg 9 reviews.
Understand and communicate current positioning of all firm strategies, recent changes in key holdings or sectors, and investment results relative to benchmarks.
Maintain and enhance investment knowledge through continuing education and development.
Conduct and facilitate client meetings or client portfolio review calls and participate in prospective client meetings as requested.
Serve as primary point of contact for clients regarding portfolio management, asset holdings, net worth and cash flow related issues.
Proactively build and maintain relationships with existing clients and their contacts to identify new or additional sales opportunities.
Develop an in-depth knowledge of the client relationships and key contacts.
Serve as a voting member of the Investment Strategy Committee (ISC) and the Trust Administrative Committee.
Oversee performance reporting for accounts.
Identify and refer business to other areas within the Bank as appropriate.
Prepare client meeting summary plan documents and recommendations.
Adhere to all applicable laws and regulations, including compliance with Atlantic Union Bankshares’ BSA/AML Policy and Procedures.
Organizational Relationship This position reports to the Chief Investment Officer.
Position Qualifications Education & Experience
Bachelor’s degree in finance or economics.
CFA or CFA candidate; MBA preferred.
10+ years industry experience.
Knowledge & Skills
Advanced analytical and problem solving skills.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Superior interpersonal skills.
Highly detail-oriented and able to multitask.
Financial modeling experience is a plus; understanding of accounting, economic, investment and finance principles.
Ability to work under limited supervision and direction while managing multiple priorities.
Extensive knowledge of Microsoft Office: Excel, Word and PowerPoint.
Salary offered will be based on several factors including but not limited to education, work experience, certifications, etc. This position is also eligible to participate in an applicable incentive compensation plan or a discretionary profit sharing bonus program.
