About the Role The
Associate
will join a
Boston
based $4 billion global private equity platform with over 25 years of successful middle-market investing. The US office launched in 2023 and is building a complementary US investment platform focused on middle-market control buyouts.
Firm’s Investment Strategy
Control-oriented LBOs of founder‑owned, owner‑operated businesses
Target: $10‑30M EBITDA
Concentrated portfolio: 4‑6 total platforms
Equity checks: $50‑200M per investment (typically $100‑150M range)
True debt structures with institutional lending partners
Flexible hold periods via Evergreen Fund structure
Job Description Key Responsibilities
Deal Origination and Screening: Assist in the identification and assessment of investment opportunities. Conduct market research, screen potential targets, and prepare initial investment theses. Start proactive focus on new industry segments to target.
Due Diligence: Participate in due diligence processes, including financial modeling, industry analysis, and company valuation. Collaborate with external advisors and consultants as necessary.
Transaction Execution: Support all aspects of deal structuring, negotiation, and documentation. Work closely with legal, financial, and operational advisors to facilitate smooth transaction closings.
Portfolio Management: Assist in the oversight of portfolio companies, including financial analysis, performance monitoring, and strategic planning. Support portfolio companies in implementing growth strategies, operational improvements, and add‑on acquisitions.
Team Development and Mentorship: Bring enthusiasm and curiosity to the job every day; assist in fostering a culture of excellence, collaboration, and continuous learning. Assist other team members with work and provide your experience and knowledge to others whenever possible.
Investor Relations and Reporting: Contribute to the preparation of materials for investor meetings, quarterly reports, and other communications.
Experience & Qualifications
Minimum of
2‑3 years of relevant experience
in investment banking or private equity.
Experience on sell‑side is a plus.
Candidates graduated in 2023 or 2024 considered.
Strong academic credentials, undergraduate degree required.
Strong modeling and PowerPoint skills.
Strong analytical and communication (verbal and written) skills.
Understanding of the deal process.
Clear, concise business writing skills.
High attention to detail.
Deep interest in building value in mid‑market companies through active ownership and operational partnership.
