What Your Job Will Be Like Do you have a passion for Model Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) and SysML, and experience working on innovative programs and emerging technologies? If so, we are seeking a Systems Engineer with MBSE expertise to join our team.
Implement MBSE and Digital Engineering approaches to advance standard methodologies on active developmental programs
Develop and implement project plans for product development efforts
Work on missile, air, and space defense programs, including pathfinder technologies, as part of a dynamic team that modernizes the nation’s critical weapon systems for strategic deterrence
Candidate must work onsite in New Mexico or California and be able to travel occasionally.
Salary Range $114,000 – $227,500. Salary is estimated and will be determined after consideration of the selected candidate’s experience and qualifications.
Qualifications We Require
Bachelor’s degree in a relevant discipline and five (5) years of directly relevant experience, or an equivalent combination of education and engineering or scientific experience that demonstrates independent research and development capability.
Ability to obtain and maintain a DOE Q‑level security clearance and Sigma‑15 clearance.
Qualifications We Desire
Graduate degree in Engineering or a related field with an independent research project as a graduation requirement.
Experience with Nuclear Security Enterprise laboratories and plants (e.g., Pantex, KCNSC, LLNL, KCNSC/NMO).
Experience in engineering design, qualification, production, or related modeling/simulation projects.
Strong verbal and written communication skills and ability to work effectively in multidisciplinary teams.
Active DOE L‑level or higher clearance (Q) or an active DOD Secret or higher clearance (TS).
Experience with MBSE tools using SysML (MagicDraw, Rhapsody, Enterprise Architect).
Architecture development, systems engineering principles, and transition to a digital environment.
R&D background and adaptability to fast‑paced change.
Skills in Interface Control Documents, requirement capture, tracking, and validation.
Engineering design from concept through demonstration, configuration management, and integration within a Digital Engineering ecosystem.
Proficiency in written and verbal communication, including presentations to peers, management, and customers.
Aerospace systems design experience (missiles, flight vehicles, missile defense systems).
About Our Team The Military Systems Engineering department applies interdisciplinary systems engineering principles to transform customer needs into solutions with verifiable, traceable, and testable requirements, overseeing design, development, and demonstration of complex military systems.
