Receptionist Position
Job Classification: Receptionist -- Full Time
Rate of Pay: $16.47 per hour

Position's Supervisor: Commander of Operations

Incumbent is responsible for a variety of receptionist and clerical duties.
Position Requirements:
- Must possess high school diploma or General Educational Development (GED) equivalency and one (1) year of full-time experience in responsible clerical position preferred. Must maintain a valid driver's license.
- Must have or be willing to complete at least 16 hours of training annually.
- Must complete a physical examination and drug screen administered by a CCNO approved physician.
- Must be physically capable of performing assigned duties and essential job functions.
Job Duties and Responsibilities:
- Screen callers, transfer calls, take messages, verify visitors against the visitation list, issue visitor passes and assist visitors with video visitation terminals and kiosk.
- Advise visitors of expected compliance with policies and procedures; and coordinate all non-scheduled or problem visits with Shift Commander/OIC on duty.
- Maintain a visitor log and computerized visitor records; and ensure the safety and security of reception area.
- Scan inmate documents into the Intellivue system/IR system.
- Coordinate inmate property release pick-ups and inmate walk-ins with Intake.
- Provide assistance to clerical/administrative staff.
- Process the facility mail as needed.
- Assist chaplains and volunteers with duties or questions.
- Verify professional visitor credentials; enter visit into the IR system.
- Maintain general cleanliness of lobby, restrooms, front foyer etc. by instructing trustee in a professional manner.
- Must possess a friendly out-going personality, be detail oriented and excellent time management and multitasking skills.
- Must possess knowledge of administrative and operational policies and procedures; modern reception procedures and basic jail operations.
- Must possess working skills in typing; computer functions; Telephone PBX experience; human and public relations; grammar, proofreading, and record keeping; communicating effectively; working independently; and follow and enforce policies and procedures.
- Perform other related duties as required or assigned.
Pay: From $16.47 per hour
Expected hours: 40.0 per week
