Essential duties and responsibilities include locally operating various types of vehicles such as tractors/trailers, military trucks, dump trucks, locomotives, front end loaders, lawn mowers, bobcats, forklifts, and military unique items and equipment. Understanding of local driving laws and regulations is required. A clean driving record, free of convictions for driving under the influence of drugs or alcohol or for felonies involving motor vehicle use, is necessary. The role involves loading or unloading trucks with or without assistance and making minor mechanical repairs or conducting PMCS.

Education and experience requirements include a high school diploma or equivalent, a valid state driver's license, a valid commercial driver's license (CDL A), and a valid DOT physical. Three or more years of relevant experience is preferred.

Knowledge, skills, and abilities include excellent attention to detail, outstanding verbal and written communication, the ability to take initiative and work independently or as part of a team, and driving knowledge of military vehicles. The ability to understand, speak, read, and write the English language is also required.

Working conditions may involve light groundskeeping and housekeeping around facilities and work areas. The role may involve lifting and carrying equipment weighing up to 45 pounds, or 50 plus pounds with assistance. Work may be both indoors and outdoors with exposure to various weather conditions. It will involve walking, standing, stooping, kneeling, sitting, and bending for extended periods of time. Manual dexterity is needed for handling tools and equipment. The role requires the ability to climb in and out of different military and civilian vehicles multiple times during the day.
