Dock Supervisor
The salary range for this position is $24.50 to $25.50 per hour. Overview: The Dock Supervisor works closely with the FC Assistant Manager to coordinate, facilitate, and oversee warehouse daily assignments and ongoing projects by directing the activities of warehouse personnel and taking the lead in performing loading/unloading, product stocking, and product picking duties. The Dock Supervisor utilizes available resources such as manpower and equipment to move freight in the safest and most cost-effective manner to meet or exceed customer expectations, FC goals, and company standards.
Duties and Responsibilities
Passcode & Key Holder
Leader on the floor and example to all associates in conduct, work ethic, respect, and overall knowledge of operations
Assigns, directs and supervises FT and Temp warehouse employees in his/her department to daily tasks and ongoing projects with an eye on production, safety, organization (consolidation, neatness, and aging rotation), loading/unloading standards, and product handling
Understands and is able to perform ILS system functions for their department
Understands and is able to operate RF Scanner functions for warehouse
Operates PIT's: picks, stages, and/or put away as needed
Signs BOLS, seals outbound loads, releases drivers as needed
Complete daily inspection as requested
Perform monthly fire extinguisher inspection as requested
Participates in the evaluation process of temporary associates for hiring potential
Knowledge of and maintain compliance with Aaron's Safety Rules Training is provided
Assist with Associate Orientation and Training: General warehouse procedures, Safety, and PIT Certifications
Collaborate with Inventory Control for item location, consolidation and issue resolution
Gathers and checks all shipping paperwork for errors; such as lane assignments keyed incorrectly, order assigned to the wrong driver, stops listed correctly, etc.
Ability to create loads and route drivers. This will require the supervisor to know and understand "cubing a trailer"
Additional duties as needed including but not limited to filling in for an Assistant Manager in their absence
Supervise and observe the loading of trucks to determine conformance to loading patterns to prevent damage to freight during transit and that the safe operation of the truck will not be jeopardized
Required Education, Experience, and Certifications
High School graduate or equivalent
Associates' Degree or equivalent experience preferred in transportation, business or related area

Standing: Frequently (activity or condition exists from 1/3 to 2/3 of time)

Working Conditions
Retail/Warehouse Environment Exposure to varying temperatures and may include working inside and outside in heat/cold. May encounter sounds/noises of varying levels.
