Brooks Utility Products is seeking a highly motivated self-sufficient Manufacturing Engineer to join our Operations team. Develop and improve manufacturing processes by studying product requirements; researching, designing, modifying, and testing manufacturing methods and equipment; conferring with equipment vendors. Establishes a course of action to accomplish completion of the job and/or project. Improves manufacturing efficiency by analyzing and planning workflow, space requirements, equipment layout, and facility layout. Supports the purchase and installation of new equipment. • Directs the development and/or improvements of manufacturing processes and equipment. Work with production operators, maintenance and floor personnel implementing improvement ideas. Teach Lean and other manufacturing tools to the operations team. Provides technical support for specific plant operations. Write and publish Operator Standardized Work and Quality Procedures. Provide manufacturing decision-making information by calculating production, labor, and material costs; reviewing production schedules; Keep equipment operational by coordinating maintenance and repair services; Support Capital Projects with requests, research, data etc. Bachelor’s degree in engineering, or equivalent experience. 3 - 5 years’ experience in a manufacturing environment. Metal stamping, assembly and fabrication environments preferred. 3 years’ experience with a 3D or 2D CAD package. Experience with job routings and processing documents, including time studies. Lean implementation and plant re-arrange hands on experience. The ability to prioritize various tasks, communicate technical information through written and verbal means, and solve complex engineering problems through a variety of resources.
