Base pay range $90.00/hr - $100.00/hr Our client is helping their client find a Manufacturing Engineer to build a prototype sensor and compute hardware in alignment with industry standards, best practices, and product requirements. This role is ideal for a motivated and curious engineer who will own and scale manufacturing lines for both new product introductions and sustaining production. In this role, you'll build and support manufacturing processes from early pilot phases through full production. You will apply your background in manufacturing and electromechanical systems to develop reliable, efficient, and scalable assembly and test solutions for advanced hardware products. The ideal candidate is hands‑on, detail‑oriented, and comfortable working in fast‑moving development environments. You take ownership of manufacturing challenges, collaborate closely with product development teams, and continuously seek opportunities to improve quality, cost, and efficiency. Role Description Support new hardware introductions by developing production assembly, test, and inspection procedures, fixtures, and equipment. Own products through pilot production and launch, driving schedules, resolving manufacturability issues, and improving quality, cost, and efficiency. Drive design for manufacturing improvements in partnership with product development teams to enhance manufacturability and control cost. Define efficient manufacturing assembly flows, including bills of materials, workflows, and detailed work instructions. Establish best practices and standards for manufacturing bills of materials and bills of process. Design and implement production equipment, fixtures, and test systems for internal manufacturing lines or supplier use. Train and support engineering technicians on manufacturing processes and equipment. Perform root cause and failure analysis on production issues, discrepant components, and field returns. Lead or participate in continuous improvement initiatives focused on material cost reduction, capacity growth, and supply chain efficiency. Support, maintain, and continuously improve manufacturing lines to meet sustaining production needs. Ideal Candidate Profile Experience in using Dassault 3DX (Catia and/or DELMIA) Experience in Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) & Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES) platforms like SAP S/4 HANA & SAP‑ME Proficiency using Lean manufacturing principles such as root cause analysis, 5‑Whys, value stream mapping, line balancing, Poka‑Yoke, 5S, and GMP Experience justifying and implementing robotics to automate processes. In this role, you will Support the introduction of new advanced hardware through design, development and creation of production assembly/test/inspection procedures, fixtures, and equipment. Take ownership of new products during pilot production phase through successful product launch. This includes driving new product introduction schedules, resolving manufacturability issues, and driving improvements in quality, cost and efficiency. Provide product and process DFM input to Product Development Engineering to enhance manufacturability and control product cost. Create an efficient manufacturing assembly flow, specifying and/or refining BOMs, workflow processes, and detailed NPI work instructions. Establish best practices and standards for creating MBOMs (Manufacturing Bill of Material) and Bill of Processes (BOPs). Design and create production equipment, fixtures, and tests as needed to build the production line either internally or as needed at suppliers. Provide training and support to engineering technicians. Provide technical support analyzing and/or performing root cause and failure analysis for discrepant production components, assemblies, and field returns. Lead/participate in continuous improvement initiatives focused on material cost reduction, capacity enhancement, and streamlining of the supply chain. Support, maintain, improve, modify, and further develop the manufacturing line as needed for sustaining production. Required Skills and Qualifications Minimum 2+ years of professional experience as a manufacturing engineer supporting product with significant electromechanical content. Bachelor’s Degree in Manufacturing, Industrial or Electrical Engineering or equivalent. Enthusiasm for getting “hands on” with product assembly and production equipment Experience in design and implementation of manufacturing fixtures and tools. Experience with design and/or process verification, validation, and testing and implementing design control processes.
