Position Overview The Department of Pediatrics, Division of Infectious Diseases at University of Mississippi Medical Center in Jackson, Mississippi is seeking a full‑time academic Pediatric Infectious Diseases specialist at the rank of Assistant/Associate Professor to join our infectious diseases faculty group.

Responsibilities

Provide inpatient consultations and outpatient clinic care.

Participate in educational development and training activities, including support for medical school classes, post‑graduates, and fellowships.

Qualifications

Board certified or board eligible to practice pediatric infectious diseases.

J1‑visa and H1‑visa holders are encouraged to apply.

About the Department The Department has over 170 faculty members and supports a medical school class of more than 150, post‑graduates in categorical pediatrics, medicine/pediatrics, child neurology, and other sub‑specialty fellowships. Children’s of Mississippi is the state’s referral center with 9,000 admissions per year, a 250‑bed hospital, a 32‑bed pediatric ICU, a Level IV NICU, and 80,000 outpatient visits annually.

Location University of Mississippi Medical Center and Children’s of Mississippi are located in Jackson, the state’s capital, with a temperate climate, affordable cost of living, and many indoor and outdoor activities within the metro area.
