Position Details
The University of Iowa Division of Cardiovascular Medicine in the Department of Internal Medicine at the University of Iowa is adding a BC/BE non‑invasive cardiologist to an expanding division composed of diverse academic faculty with broad clinical and research interests. Appointment may be to the rank of Assistant Professor, Associate Professor, or Professor and to either the clinical (non‑tenure) or tenure track consistent with clinical experience and research interest. The position is not eligible for university sponsorship for employment authorization.
Responsibilities
Diagnose and manage cardiovascular conditions through patient consultations and medical history reviews. Perform and interpret non‑invasive diagnostic tests, such as EKGs, stress tests, and echocardiograms. Develop and oversee individualized treatment plans for heart health and disease prevention. Collaborate with primary care providers and other specialists for coordinated patient care. Educate patients on lifestyle changes, risk management, and medication adherence. Participate in departmental activities, including quality improvement initiatives, conferences, and continuing education. Research activities are encouraged, though participation is not required for continued employment or promotion.
