What you’ll do As Chief AI Officer (or CTO), you will lead AI strategy and execution end-to-end, owning the systems that power patient and clinician experiences:
Define the AI roadmap, architecture, and evaluation strategy across the product
Build robust clinical-grade LLM workflows: intake, triage, summarization, recommendations, and physician-validation loops
Establish quality, safety, and reliability standards (hallucination controls, policy guardrails, testing, monitoring)
Drive data strategy: structured clinical data, feedback loops, labeling, and continuous improvement
Partner deeply with physicians to translate clinical practice into scalable AI systems
Build and lead a high-velocity AI/engineering team (hiring, culture, delivery)
Own model/tool selection and vendor strategy (LLMs, agents, observability, compliance tooling)
Ensure privacy and security by design (HIPAA mindset), and readiness for regulated environments
What we’re looking for
Proven experience shipping AI/ML systems to production (not just prototypes)
Strong hands-on ability with modern LLM stacks (prompting, RAG, tool-use, evals, fine-tuning where appropriate)
Excellent engineering judgment (systems design, reliability, monitoring, iteration speed)
Comfort operating in ambiguity: you can go from 0→1, then harden to 1→10
Ability to communicate clearly with both engineers and clinicians
Leadership experience building teams and setting technical direction
