Medical Director - Established and Growing Private Practice (Boston, MA)
Medical Director opening with a full service, small animal hospital that is privately owned, established and growing.
New location in the West End, opened in 2022.
Exceptional staff – the ratio is 2 technicians to 1 doctor, whether it’s in surgery or exam rooms.
Very new equipment: X‑ray, dental X‑ray, ultrasound, and cautery.
6 exam rooms with one dedicated for end‑of‑life care.
One designated exam room for cats, with a Feliway diffuser across the hall from where the dogs are seen.
Two areas in the lobby, so pets don’t get unnecessarily stressed out by other pets in the waiting area.
Idexx for in‑house and the majority of reference labs. Antech for biopsies and cytologies.
Paid parking in a private garage.
Schedule
The Medical Director creates the schedule and will need to provide coverage, but is otherwise flexible.
General expectation: 4 days per week plus every other Saturday.
Hospital hours: 9 a.m. – 5 p.m. Monday–Friday; 9 a.m. – 1 p.m. Saturday.
Qualifications
DVM / VMD
Massachusetts State Veterinary License required
5+ years experience practicing as a small animal GP veterinarian
Proficiency in general practice soft‑tissue surgery
Compensation Up to $200,000 base salary + 22% production.
